Even small amounts of water can cause considerable damage in hydraulic, lubricating or turbine oils: Oxidation in particular causes corrosion nests to form in lines and at the bottom of tanks, as well as unwanted rust particles that cause premature wear of sliding and sealing surfaces. In addition, vapor bubbles can form, which initiate cavitation and destruction of the pumps. The insulating effect of transformer and condenser oil is also significantly reduced.
However, all this can be counteracted by means of our fully automatic process in a FRIESS vacuum Oil Dewatering System. In the vacuum chamber, the water evaporates due to the low pressure and is extracted by the vacuum pump. The liquid is then passed through a 3 µm filter, removing coarse dirt particles. The dewatered oil finally flows back into the oil circuit via the heat exchanger.
